INFORMATION and REFERRAL

The Information and Referral Services of the International Dyslexia Association—New York IDA-NY) provides a vital link between people who need services and those who can provide them. Our service is the linking mechanism: a facilitator and advocate in the area of dyslexia and related learning disabilities services. Our service provides an invaluable resource that connects people with information on dyslexia and related learning disabilities to highly trained reading specialists and evaluators, and to a broad spectrum of other resources available to assist our community. The IDA-NY Information and Referral Service strives to insure an effective response to the information needs of our callers, and to facilitate delivery among service providers.

The information and referral service is the only service in New York state dedicated solely to dyslexia.

Over 5,000 calls are received annually requesting referrals to well-trained and experienced educational evaluators, tutors, and special education advocates or lawyers.

IDA-NY - Service Provider Information Form

The International Dyslexia Association—New York supports efforts to provide services to individuals with dyslexia, their families, and all related support personal. This branch does not, however, endorse any of the service providers that will be presented in this list. These providers are listed as a starting point from which one must screen for appropriateness to the individual situation. This list includes only those who have completed and returned the necessary forms Service Provider Information Form and who are members of the International Dyslexia Association. The New York Branch reserves the right to determine appropriateness for listing. 

There is a $75.00 fee to be listed on the referral service. This fee covers the costs related to operating this free service to our callers.
